The film’s story revolves around a mysterious assassin organization rumored across Asia, operating covertly from a noodle shop nestled in a bustling city, serving as a clandestine relay station for assassins. Assassin No. 4 (played by Jeffrey Ng Chun-sung), orphaned since childhood, grows up within the noodle shop. By chance, he is dispatched to Japan to assassinate a yakuza boss but unexpectedly falls into an ambush orchestrated by his client—a young Japanese woman (played by Nagasawa Nano). Driven by vengeance, she spares no expense to hire an assassin and attempts to enlist No. 4 in her revenge plot. However, this leads to both of them being relentlessly pursued by the yakuza... "Road to Vendetta" transcends the boundaries of a mere action film, offering a profound exploration of human nature and destiny.
Earlier, "Road to Vendetta" was selected for the main competition at the Fantastic Fest in Texas, USA, showcasing its international appeal. In September of the same year, the film was featured in the Crouching Tigers section of the 9th Pingyao International Film Festival, where it received a nomination for the Fei Mu Honor for Best Film, further attesting to its outstanding quality.
